iPhone 3.0 Beta and future upgrades
Apple has stated that all iPhone 3.0 beta users will be able to upgrade to the retail release sometime this summer by simply upgrading via iTunes. This means at that time you would not need access to a developers account to upgrade, just access to iTunes
