Ok so I have an iTouch 2nd generation, I'd like to upgrade. But I seem to be missing step by step instructions on doing it. So any one willing to provide step by step instructions? Does one use iPhone 3G software on the iTouch 2nd generation device?

Well the iPhone1,2_3.0_7A312g_Restore.ipsw software appears to not work for the 2nd generation iTouch. Next I'll try the iPhone1,1_3.0_7A312g_Restore.ipsw file. | |

Do not use that firmware, the iPod has specific firmware designed by apple for the iPod. if you would like access to that you can purchase the developers account with UDID registration and download it straight from the apple server faster | |

I have purchased the developer account, with UDID registration, so can you give me any guidance in downloading it? The apple site will give me a dmg file. As a windows user that is not all that helpful for me. How do I go about converting that file into a ipsw file?
